Hello, whoever is reading my blog.
Today was a lot of terrific fun, because it was S's birthday.
At first, today was like any other day. But then, in the afternoon, Mommy and I began to search the Internet for birthday cake ideas.
We looked and looked. Finally, I found the perfect cake. It was heart shaped. So we made a heart cake, and iced it with chocolate icing.
And then, a little later, S blew out the candles on the cake, and then she opened the presents. First, there was a homemade birthday card from J, and some of her own coins. Then, from me, there was a homemade birthday card, 25 cents, a wallet portrait of S and I when we were toddlers (rather bent up. I found it in the basement) a certificate that allowed her to be on the computer for one hour, and a paper bag puppet. Then, from Mommy and Daddy came a birthday card from the store, a ten dollar bill, a doll nightgown and blanket, a needlepoint picture to sew, a large candy bar, and a small box of six chocolates. And then there was a present for all of us, that we all helped to open. It was full of a sort of Lincoln Logs! But they weren't round. They were more square.
And this evening, we received a phone call that a young man in our church was going to be baptised this evening! He has been saved some months back. We gathered, and sang a hymn, and then saw Pastor T. and Elder W. baptise him.
I guess I had better go now.
